Hydr. hose won't seal to slave, leaks

Replacing clutch slave (fairly new clutch master, and hydr. hose)because slowly loosing fluid and have gotten to the point where I have to "pump" the clutch. So I get everything together and start to bleed it when the slave starts dripping. it's leaking from the fitting at the hydraulic hose to slave. It's already pretty tight so I'm hesitant to crank down more on the 13mm nut. I don't see anything significant by looking at the male end of the hose or the female part of the slave. How finicky are these compression fittings? I'm wondering whether I should order a new hose (even though this one's pretty new) But then, with the hose fitting being steel and the slave receiver being aluminum, I wonder if I've damaged the slave with the hose. Any thoughts, similar experiences? wondering if I
