just as a safety test.
My distributor (87 turbo) was acting up a couple of years ago and would fail randomly, leaving me with a no-start condition lasting 30 to 60 minutes. I wasn't certain it was the distributor at the time.
I remember getting a weak spark while diagnosing once when stranded. 40 minutes later the car started and I drove home.
I was motivated after trying a friend's known good distributor during another no-start day. Installing a rebuilt distributor took care of the problem. No problems since.
