Ditto on pulling the head Posted by couch tour [Email] (#187) [Profile/Gallery] (more from couch tour) on Fri, 16 Mar 2012 12:57:43 In Reply to: how to pull out a busted exhaust stud out of the head, vvack0matic [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 15 Mar 2012 19:20:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'd certainly pull the head. Your broken stud is in the same location mine was, on both of my C900's, and on my 9-5. I did it myself, using a reverse drill bit and easy outs. But I put the head up on a mill first, milled the stud flat, drilled it on center, and used the clamping force of the mill to hold the easy out in while I turned it out by hand. It is unlikely you have these tools, so I would also recommend just spending a few bucks at a machine shop.
