No trace of any scoring in the aluminum bores, not sure where it would come from if there were any, cleaned up beautifully with alcohol and extremely fine wetor dry paper, just to get the varnish off, and if there had been scoring that could have been cleaned up too.
I bought my o-rings at a local seals shop, not more than a couple bucks, I posted sizes on here several times. Quote is from my post of Feb. 2005:
"It's cheap; they use three metric o-rings, 3x35 mm, 3x39mm, and 3x49mm. I've had good results rebuilding them myself with common buna rubber o-rings though I've been told they don't hold up well in brake fluid and that neoprene are better and EPR or EPDM rubber are the best, neither available locally here."
The failed ones I was rebuilding had failed because the rubber had aged so much it was coming apart under influence of the brake fluid. They were factory originals and over 10 years old.
So easy to get apart I would rebuild them again if they fail again.
