Wheel bearing? Rippin' it apart anyway Posted by nateh89spg [Email] (#563) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nateh89spg) on Sat, 19 May 2012 16:30:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So.
I've have a worsening condition on the front end of my 88 SPG. Somewhat recent ball joints, low milage shocks (koni), springs (B&G), rebuild rack and TREs installed last month. There's been an increasing amount of low "thuds" on passenger's front in the last couple of days. Jacked it up today and started investigating. The only thing I could find was what appeared to be fluid/moistness on the end of the axle (driver's side dry). So I broke it down and am going to replace the front wheel bearings (both side b/c I just love spending $$$$$ on this car). The hub is a bit squeaky off the car so I'm thing I caught it early. Any thoughts as to the greasiness in on the outside of the axle?
BTW: never sounded too loud, but had hear over tire noise and 'tunes.
Take Care,
Nate
