I am working on a friend's 1990 Saab 900. Turn signal would periodically stick on - signal lights would stop flashing and not turn off. If you turned the car off, removed the key, then turned car back on, the stuck lights would come on again. Then a day or two later, the signal would fix itself and turn off. This also happened once with the hazards when she stopped on the side of the road: lights stuck on.

I replaced the flasher relay under the dash. The old one looked pretty corroded. Month goes by, I get a call from her saying that it did it again. Left side stayed on for two days, then fixed itself. While stuck on, the right signal worked fine but the hazards didn't flash.

I still have the old relay in my toolbox and confirmed on the web that it must be the flasher for left, right, hazards because is has only one power input, one signal input and one signal output.

Does this car have another relay somewhere? Or does she need a turn signal stalk.
