I think that the problem with corroded reflectors is twofold. First is the reduction of light output. Certainly higher wattage/output bulbs would increase the available light to be reflected. But this doesn't address the real problem, which is the degradation of the reflective surface itself. This not only decreases the amount of light reflected but, by increasing surface roughness, also increases the amount of scattering, causing blurring of the beam. Given that the reflector is an integral part of the optics, it seems unlikely that adding more light would give satisfactory results, as well as increasing glare.
