usually on 1987 or so models, HOWEVER if you replaced that lower A arm with a used one, you could have gotten one from the prone to break years. Replace it of course. it rusts at the weld attachment of the "A" on the rear portion, I suspect that is the part that broke on yours? when moving forward the forward portion (the one that seems to never fail) gets stressed and the rear compressed. usually in reverse the opposite stresses tear the rear portion out.
