I have a 1999 Saab 9-3 95,000 miles. My sons first car he bought from a car lot. The lot he bought it from said they put new struts on it. We have replaced struts, radiator, tires, bearings and finally got it in the raod and a hose blew and it overheated. Son said it never got in the red. He pulled over and called a tow and took it to a local garage. The mechanic told me the hoses were worn and he suggested I replace both hoses. After we took it back home it stayed in the same place all night and at noon the next day son got in the car to go to work, he made it a block and it showed it was overheating so he turned around and came back to the house. Said reservoir was dry, so he added some water, and it basically leaked out the bottom. We took it back to the shop and he said he can figure it out. He tried a hydrologic acid test to test gasket, but said that was ok. Now we have a total in this car of 6000.00. In order to take it somewhere I will have to tow it. I just don't know what to do. Any suggestions? Any suggestions for the mechanic where it is now? He said the cooling system on a Saab runs backwards.??? Thanks for suggestions.
