turbocon86 makes some good points... it's actually really easy to pull and modify radio + stuff there, so not great that they kludged that up. Look the car over carefully. That said, things like the audio + even a seat tear are probably not huge concerns (just factor into the negotiations). Can get an insert that holds stuff where that "custom unit" is...
Check engine is rarely a big deal in c900's... think of it as the "change O2 sensor" light. You can check + clear the codes under the seat in the back when you look at the car (see bentley manual), these cars are much simpler than the 9-5: no tech 2 needed! ha!
wrt braking system, I would check it over for leaks - especially look at the lines under carpets on the drivers side (and under the car at the back). it's a few torx screws to look, and that's it. pita if they leak, but not too costly to get fixed.
rust is the #1 enemy, so look closely... and if you don't have one yet, get a bentley... (often available used for much less $$ than new)...
