Well, pappy, my take is, almost everything semielectronic on Saabs seems to be restored by re-flowing the solder on the circuit boards. Usually, the pads leading to the relays.
On the 9000s, which are a little different, the door lock controller boxes go bad a lot and are I think universally fixable by redoing the solder.
I think it crystallizes with age and gets less conductive and fails to carry the current. Microcracks develop.
A recent bunch of posts on here has been about BAKING circuit boards in the oven, 10 minutes at around 375 I recall being the recommendation. I'd only do it to one at a time and shoo the woman out of the house while doing it, and make up a story for any lingering odor.
Let cool down before moving anything; solder needs to solidify undisturbed.
I was I guess thinking lead when I doubted it would touch solder joints, Britannica (a book printed on paper!) says typical electrical solder melting point is 363 degrees F as I remember it. And they are plainly mass soldered; I've seen pictures of this done by lightly dipping into a pool of melted solder but maybe it's from preplaced solder and baking, anyways baking sounds easier than hand touching a soldering pencil to all likely contacts.
Lead isn't healthy, its fumes included. Ventilate well.
