thought i would take it apart and see what makes it work...
inside is a large electrical solenoid and the spring loaded piston which bleeds the pressure to the 'r' port. the piston seats against the plastic housing to seal. My car has the brown/yellow solenoid type valve with only 2 pin electrical connector...
I took it all apart, cleaned and lubricated all the moving parts. it was quite dirty. the spring looked like it had seen better days, so I gave it a stretch...
anyways boost problem is fixed for now until I go buy a new valve. I wont use used in this case, as this car produces too much power now to trust in old used parts now.
also...with the electrical connector unplugged, the car returns (of course) to base boost, which I have set at 6-7 psi. however, im finding that the waste-gate is creeping now up to almost 10 psi at 6000rpm. I may have to port the waste-gate hole bigger :( anyone else had to do this on modified cars?
