Under dash HVAC removal question Posted by Adam [Email] (#344) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Adam) on Mon, 21 Jan 2013 13:40:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have an '86 900 base that I'm bringing back to life. Luckily, I have another '86 900 base as a donor. On the car I'm restoring, the HVAC had been completely infested with mice so I ended up taking it completely apart while I was stripping the car. So now for the question:
On the donor car, will I be able to remove the whole HVAC system in basically one piece? Currently the lines going to the ac condenser are unhooked, the dash and facia are off, the steering column is unbolted, and the lower air duct is off.
It sort of looks like I'd be able to unhook the lines to the heater core, unbolt the central duct/cross brace at the ends, unbolt the ac condenser housing from the fire wall and pull the whole unit out with the blower fan housing, heater core, and a/c condenser all in place. Is this correct, or do I have to further disassemble the system?
