Why can't you get it out of reverse? If it's that the cold has also made the keyworks stiff so you can't free up the shifter, try putting a small electric heater in the car, close a door on the extension cord, don't put it too close to anything so it doesn't melt something or start a fire, and go inside and wait an hour or so.
If it's the pressure of the car on the transmission gears, you ought to be able to use a little muscle and pop it into neutral. It's not an ideal thing to do but it shouldn't hurt anything, it's not like you're ramming it into gear, or popping it out of gear, with the motor revving at full power.
If your drive is level, or not too steep, put a shoulder against the doorpost and push as if to roll the car, which should relieve the pressure, if you want. Block the front wheels with something so it doesn't run away on you or run you down.
