This may get a bit long so I apologize in advance. This board recently answered my questions about swapping transmissions from and '88 into a '93 and wanted to thank all for that. Because I dont have enough to do I saw an ad for a '93 900CE not far from my home. (I have one now as a DD). Ad said transmission needing work, ignition needing work but only 79K miles. Was AZ car moved to RI etc. Went to look at the car and there is was a '93 CE in all its glory. Had sat for a year as owner knew nothing about the 900 other then he drove it a year and didnt want to fix it when the transmission 'stopped working'. Car would start with a jump and a screwdriver. Bought it and trailered it home to MA. Removed interior, installed new Saab ignition cylinder, and put in a new battery. Removed the shift rod and the bottom white plastic ball had detonated. Transmission problem maybe? Replaced the shift rod and can now feel all gears while moving the shift. The clutch inc slave and master were done in 2009 (has service records), that was 4K miles ago but the clutch pedal had no pressure so purchased and installed new clutch master, started to bleed and slave is leaking. So I have a new slave to install when the blizzard blows over but and finally here is my concern....I noticed when I was getting out of the car last night I had put the shift lever into gear and the car would roll as if transmission wasn't engaged. After the shift rod was replaced could see the dogbone turning properly under the hood. So what could I be looking at/for once I get the clutch pedal back hopefully this Sunday??? Thanks in advance.
