First off, it will not fit in a car with electric seats. It was meant to install only under the passenger seat of a car with manual seats. If this describes your car, continue reading.

Under the passenger seat, you will see a bar going across from one side to the other. The hooks on the back of the trash can loop over that bar (they slide into place). Next, there are two tabs - one on each side - of the front of the trash can. Once the hooks are on the back bar, these front tabs twist and lock it into place on something toward the front of the under-side of the seat. You will see it when you get under there. It's pretty straight forward. To remove, twist off the front locks and pull it out.
