like CMyles said, check that your ground wire to the alternator is secure. if you have a volt meter meter from any point on the alternator case to any ground, the bracket for the AC compressor is a good spot. see if you can find the wire (if original it will be a small wire from a post on the side of the alternator pointed to the front of the car, and then will go under the bolt at the bottom on the AC bracket) and wiggle it by hand.


I usually use a short battery cable and put one end under the nut on the alternator adjuster unit (the one that is usually hidden under the heater hoses, jut remove the nut, slip on and replace the nut) and the other end somewhere on the AC compressor bracket.
