You might need to do that, but personally, I'd eliminate all the plumbing (vac line) issues first. A quick way to eliminate the hard lines to the charcoal canister is to pull the hard line out of the rubber hose and stick a pencil into the rubber hose. Be careful, that rubber hose is no longer available and if old tears easily. If you trash it, a short length of silicone (or plain rubber) tubing works very well (same diameter as the hoses that lead to the turbo waste gate (nay be enough slack there to hijack an inch or two)
