That's consistent with what Richard Buckthorpe-Cooper posted a little earlier. Back when new ones were available I wasn't concerned with how much they crushed but now that I'm re-using old ones I'm curious. I ususally shoot for spreading them 0.010" - 0.015" from their "crushed" condition and that works just fine. Later on I'll wash off a used one and mic it just for fun. Thanks!
