Shift Boot Replacement... Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Tue, 23 Apr 2013 05:44:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Well this is more involved than I anticipated. So far I've got the center console removed and the shift knob off. It looks like I need to remove the three torx screws at the base of the shifter to remove the reverse lockout pin? Two questions:
1). If I remove the shifter rod can it be reinstalled without adjustment, or does it throw off the adjustment? I'm not familiar with how the shift rod interfaces with whatever links the shifter to the transmission.
2). That thin wire/rod that's pictured (link below) sticking down out of the boot... can it be transferred to my new boot? New boot came with the reverse lockout collar but no pin sticking down.
Thanks!
