I think the knock function is working ok. Recently my vacuum advance/retard failed, and my boost was pretty limited without the retard on boost. Isn't that because of ignition too early for the boost condition, which is detected as knock? I've been meaning to hook up a knock LED to pin 19 on the APC controller, but haven't got around to it yet.
I hope it's not modified to ignore knock. I discovered recently that some PO modified my fuel pump wiring at the fuel pump relay, so who knows. I agree with you though -- I'm confident my APC solenoid and knock sensor are in working order, and that the wiring is good, so that just leaves the controller.
I would like to try another controller, but I don't have another SPG (7524127) APC controller to try. I could probably scare up a non-SPG controller (7566599?) and try that.
