No-one suggested the low battery possibility??? Sounds like the battery is low, probably as a result of the ground wire failing on the alternator, leading to radio cut-out and then starter inop. With headlight switch in 'on' position, radio would be ok with key in acc, but when 'on', headlights drain too much power, and radio is off again. Could also be batt light failure.
Simple tests that involve no work, or tools:
Does batt light come on with ignition on?
If so, try jumping starter, the old school way. Remove yellow wire w/spade connector from starter, and jump across the big terminal on back of starter. Does it crank? Healthy crank?
If not, battery is low. Try ignition on, headlights off. Does the radio stay on? If so, no issues with ignition switch.
At that point, i would be looking at the alternator. Jump start the car, check battery with volt meter, looking for 13.4v. If you see 12v or so, then it is not charging, and that is your issue. Then you just have to track it down.
I've got $5 on that one.
Good luck
