Perhaps a bit late if Slyde made the decision on Monday but a cautionary tale that may be useful to someone in the future. I was faced with a similar dilemma a couple of years ago when I did the auto --> manual swap on my '93. I'd actually ordered and then purchased a proper gasket only to find that, in ways that I don't precisely recall, it didn't fit so I went with 518 all 'round. Doing so wasn't a disaster-- 45k mi later both tranny and motor work well, but I have had to live with a persistent seep of tranny fluid. The leak not only fouls the engine and its compartment and requires more attention and maintenance than is normal, but the incontinence of my otherwise lovely Saab C900 (of which I am exceedingly proud) is a bit of an embarrassment to me when parking on, say, a friend's concrete driveway.
No guarantees that the outcome would have been different, but I sure wish I'd have waited to get my hands on the right gasket.
