The UCA does support the static weight of the car but.. ...the LCA isn't just along for the ride. It reacts damping loads, and participates in braking, acceleration and lateral loads. It's longer, so the moment that's reacted at the fulcrum (bushings) for some of these loads may be greater than at the UCA. Not disagreeing with you that the loads are different, just cautioning against the belief that the LCA has an easy life. They are the ones that break, so something's going on there...
