I bought this one a couple months ago, based on a recommendation from a friend:

Nice thing about the computer-based USB ones is the ability to record for future evaluation, or posting online for commentary! It's nice having a big screen (I use a 14" laptop), and $40 is a lot cheaper than even entry-level self-contained units.
What's not nice is you really need to get a USB extension cable - the length of the cable provided is too short for many situations. Also, and obviously, you need to have a computer present. I don't mind that at all in the garage, but leaving a laptop sitting out in blazing 100 degree heat while you squint to see the display is less than ideal.
On this particular model it's fixed focus and the lighting isn't great, but I've actually yet to find a situation where it's been a problem.
Overall, zero regrets about this purchase. I'd do it again, and I'd recommend it.
