All C900 & 99 boost gauges (and 9000, too IIRC) are purely mechanical. A vacuum line connects the gauge to the inlet manifold.
You need to trace the line from the gauge, through the firewall, and to the inlet manifold. The line connects to a fitting on the inlet manifold "log". Usually, this is on the top or left side of the log. It does NOT go to any place on the throttle body!
The "air/electronic bulby thing" is probably the overboost pressure switch. Just leave that alone, as it has nothing to do with the boost gauge. There is normally a "tee" fitting that connects that into the line that goes to the boost gauge.
