A US-spec '89 900T won't have an accumulator or warm-up regulator - those are CIS systems used on earlier 8-valve cars.
Cycling of the check engine light is unusual. Makes me think that the ECU might be dodgy or that the there might be an odd fault with the oxygen sensor.
As no-name said, get thee a Bentley manual for the 16-valve SAAB. Bentley is a good reference. It's not perfect but it's good and doesn't have all of the electrical diagrams that the factory electrical manual has.
