A no start situation when temperature is < 45ish deg F Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Thu, 26 Dec 2013 23:23:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There are no starting problems whatsoever on my '79 900 gle unless the temperature outside is 45ish deg f or colder, in which case, when I turn the key to start the car, I get absolutely nothing. No slightest noise even. It acts like there might be an electrical connector that when it gets cold enough, creates too much resistance to get to voltage to the starter.
I am looking for ideas on how to test what might be the problem so I don't through money at things that do not need replacing. I have watched this problem long enough to know that this no start situation is directly related to how cold the parts/wires/switches/etc on the car are.
Much thanks!
