I've had similar idle and various fixes, simple as replacing the AMM, the plug on top of Idle control motor being faulty (these fittings are getting on and after all those years of heat they deteriorate & wires and attachments break down )maybe the aic itself. If your concerned about vacuum leaks from the air vent control disconnect the vacuum tank and plug the hose/nipple from the motor, the air distribution will still work but not from all the vents, I believe you lose the center vents but most others, sides work, just one setting. not ideal but to get behind the dash is a pain. Generally Ive found when the idle stumbles as you come to a halt, then recovers after a few up and downs it's usually something more than just a vacuum leak.
