Can't seem to craft a query to bring up an answer...
Trying to replace the original upper chain pad/guide in the valve cover of my '86 900t but can't easily pry it out. Surprised how hard the old pad is compared to the replacement. No way will the pad flex enough to work over the end tab and I'm hesitant to bend any tabs in the bracket to slide the hardened pad out.
Do you guys just break up the old pad in place? It seems the new one is soft enough to slide in over the end tab without problem. The old one - not so much... Will be happy to have the new one in place!
TIA,
-Bob
