Master cylinder leaking/spitting into pedal/floor

Had the knee bolster off to try cooking my cruise ECU when I noticed the beginnings of a mess. Every press/release of the clutch spits some nasty fluid onto the clutch pedal, where it's been running down onto my floor mat. It hasn't lost much out of the reservoir yet and pedal feel is not suffering.
So, is it replace or rebuild? Any good guides with pics?
PS: Dumb question - but I just had my brakes done in January - new fluid as well. Could improper bleeding be to blame?
Thanks,
Brian
