Going through my own clutch issues this week - thankfully more preventative in my case. Anyway, I guess the obvious list:
1. check brake/clutch reservoir for fluid loss.
2. check braided clutch hose line from reservoir to clutch master cylinder for damp areas - the rubber rots inside the line (in the engine compartment, about halfway down the firewall, opposite the clutch pedal).
3. check metal line running from master cylinder to the slave cylinder (front of the engine - there's also a braided soft line in this, so check it also.
4. check for brake fluid loss at the slave cylinder area (probably drips into skid plate).
