If the shaped foam blocks of the original seat have been damaged or badly decayed, adding some aftermarket un-shaped foam is the last thing you want to do. You might consider buying a seat for a C900 at a junkyard, either side, cloth or any color leather, that seems to be in good condition. Strip it down and transfer its foam to your driver side frame.
I removed the bottom on one once, hand-restitched seams and replaced it. I found it helpful to wet the leather from the back side before reinstalling it. It makes it more supple so it's easier to work with. Also, once it's on, it shapes itself to the foam and dries taut.
