The window motor failure isn't too tough to diagnose. There is a 2 wire plug in the door jamb that sends 12 volts to the motor. To check you unplug the connector and apply 12 volts and ground to the 2 wires. A mechanic should be able to do both sides in about 10 minutes. If the motors work then it's off to the fuses, switchpack, and wires. I've had a fuse blow in a functioning system by holding both switches down and trying to get both windows up at the same time. I now always do one at a time.
