Things to check would be the rubber bond in the harmonic balancer, the water pump bearings and the field wire on the alternator. Specifically, have the field wire and oil pressure sender wires been swapped?
Also; leaving the headlight switch on in a C900 Saab should have no effect at all, the headlights go off when the key is turned off and the fan is supposed to run after the car is shut off for up to ten minutes or until the temp. sensor drops to a certain point. If the fan is running just before you turn off the car it should continue running briefly after you shut off the car. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the fan timer relay.
The vibration on turning left is probably a worn left wheel bearing but could be an outer CV joint.
One more thought, When the catalytic convertor heat shield rusts away the cat can radiate enough heat through the floor of the car to damage the wiring under the console. You might smell burning insulation and develop a short to ground that would drain the battery.
