That's too bad that the tranny is shot. Nice looking car. Where you already have another, I would think selling it to someone keen to restore it is probably the best use of your time. I've had to patch up rust around a tail light of our winter beater. There are hack job approaches that work fine, but if you want it to come out perfect, the body shop is going to charge $$ for sure. High quality bodywork is hard to DIY unless you have time and space and $$ to setup for it. Dealing with rust *and* a blown tranny... well, that's a big job and a lot of time. Great for someone who's always wanted one of these to restore and has another DD... If you got it for a great price, shouldn't be too hard to sell it for a great price and not take a big loss.
I would do my best to avoid parting out a CE though! good luck!
