Airbag and clock spring

Changed the steering column bushing that was causing my wheel movement. The wires coming from the clock spring got pinched and scratched off a bit of insulation exposing some wire. I taped each wire with electrical tape and put the wheel on carefully.
SRS light acts normal. But kind of nervous about the airbag going off spontaneously if the two wires short circuit. It can't do that, right?
