Help with sputtering 900 Turbo? Posted by vsfoxe [Email] (#1025) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vsfoxe) on Sun, 28 Sep 2014 18:13:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1991 900 SE Turbo Convertible. Was in my garage for Heater Valve replacement, and fixing Cruise Control (it was the brake & clutch switches leaking). Lots of poking around down in that area! I got them fixed, but the Saab Continuum has me in its grasp now! I thought everything was done, so I took it for a test drive last night. Now the car will barely go above 3000 rpm if you're using any boost at all. But if you nurse it above 4000 rpm, it will boost just like usual. This car was running perfectly until this problem surfaced. I use boost each time I drive it. I'm lousy at fixing this type of problem, and I'm looking for suggestions.
So far I've:
Installed new NGK BCP7Es at .024" gap
Installed new Bosch Rotor and Cap
Unhooked Hall Sensor - it looks perfect
Filled car up with fresh mid-grade gas
Installed Bougicord spark plug wire set (used)
Changed the APC box (used)
Replaced ECU (used 948)
Changed the Ignition Amplifier (used)
Cleaned & treated ground points (radiator/Fuel Rail)
To no avail. Tomorrow I'll change AMM, Gas Cap, Ignition Coil, APC relay. What could make this thing sputter and skip from 3000-4000 rpm, but run fine below and above that zone?? Thanks. Vern
