Hey guys thinking about buying a 4dr S. 1987 non turbo.
The add is 850$obo so I drove out 1hr to test drive it, all the gears work well, no noticeable rust in trunk or fenders, interior very clean (supposedly garage kept) -its a pretty clean car all round except for a cracked to hell dash board haha.
Driving the car I realized it had no get up and go. Half way down the gas pedal activated throttle and flooring it definitely you could tell it was flooring it but just no serious power.. Also it wouldn't exceed 70mph... I didn't have all the best tools with me to pull the spark plugs to see if they were oiled up or super old/bad but could anyone give some comment as to some of the described issues? Is it worth buying for 700$? I also have an 87' 900 turbo coupe at home
There were no noticeable vac leaks or coolant leaks and also the idle was very soft and clean, climbing up speeds there is no misfiring feeling or anything off about the drive just a power lack and a limited top speed of roughly 70mph.. Please help a fellow saab addict
