Be sure you use heat shrink tube where the cable meets the terminal. It's good for mechanically strengthening that connection and ensuring the battery cable does corrode. Marine-type (adhesive lined) is preferable here. Amazingly, Harbor Freight has decent marine heat shrink for CHEAP - although one $5 kit is only enough to do one pair of battery cables, leaving you with the balance of the kit unused. Still cheaper than any other source!
