It's with a heavy heart that I take leave of the Saabish life. The FrankenSaab ate it's transmission last fall (likely pinion bearing failure but tranny case seems intact) and, though I stashed it beside my garage in hopes of finding the time, materials, and motivation to make it whole once again, I have to confess that I have none of those assets at hand.
So I'm going to donate the remnants to my local public radio station (WERN, Madison). How many remnants will go with her depends on local demand for the parts of her carcass. By demand I mean your willingness to come out to harvest what you think might be of use to you or others. There's lots of goodies to be had (the beautifully refurbished headliner is the one I'll miss the most but then there is the usual-- AMM, wheel covers, etc.) that should be put to better use than at present.
As long as you do the work and leave me with a chassis and tires that can be towed away, it's yours at no cost. All I ask is that you drop me an email so we can get in touch and coordinate schedules: arabiflora@charter.net
It makes me sad to come to this point but I have consigned myself to a life, for the time being at least, without the pleasures of driving a C900. If the FrankenSaab can help other owners keep their rides on the road I would be very pleased.
