Hi.
After many years of fun "top down" driving my Saab 900 turbo convertible....I have decided to give it a re-fresh..note the car has not been winter driven and has 250,000 km with original engine
I'd like some ideas, lessons learned, suggestions, what to watch out fors.
The project list includes the following
1-New paint ...where should I look for rust...(already found some under the front window seals) where else should I pay attention to
2-Replace convertible rear window glass and panel....(roof fabric repalced 10 years ago and in good shape) wash the existing fabric roof to spruce it up.
3- my Saab mechanic suggests putting 9000 seats in the front to replace existing tired ( stiching fixed several times...and leather is brittle) he has done the refit on his wife's car.
4- replace front windshield...( cracked in corner sur to rust in seal)
5- I have an original Saab instrument cluster ( voltage, oil pressure, and air temperature)... But need the oil pressure sensor and air temperature thermocouple....any ideas.
6- Engine servicing...filters, belts, fluids, plugs etc....
7- wear and tear inspection on bakes, shocks, ball joints and service as necessary.
So what else should I consider..it's going to the body shop next week.
Is there an "inspection check list for mature Saabs..
