Hi all,
My 90 900T is making a sound similar to that of driving with a tire that has a bulge in it.
I had a torn outer CV boot and thought that that was it but after replacing that, the sound persists.
Here are the symptoms:
The frequency of the sound (not the pitch), increases with speed.
It is consistent through all gears and neutral.
Hard turning has no effect on the sound.
There is no wobble, vibration or play in the steering at any speed (up to 75).
Car tracks perfectly and feels solid.
I've swapped tires and it made no difference.
No excessive fluid loss.
Oh yeah, IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!
My thoughts are:
Wheel bearing (no wobble or vibration though)
Inner driver bearings (again, I believe there would be wobble or vibration).
Something in the differential?
I'm not sure how the differential gets fluid but maybe there are some holes that are plugged/gunked up?
Don't really know how to diagnose this so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tushy
