I've both painted Bumpers and SPG panels myself with SEM Charcoal Gray Metallic (39273) and had a shop do them for me. Either way you can get great results; the SEM paint quality is very high (but there's a trick). If you paint them with the SEM product you have to be sensitive to the humidity on the day you choose to do them, and you have to do the prep work well (wet sand them with 400 and 800 grit paper). If you paint them on a day that is too humid, the finish will come off too flat - but I've only had that problem on a warm day in the middle of the summer; a nice dry Fall or Spring day is best. Also if you sand the down to bare plastic in some spots, you need to use the SEM primer, sand them, and perhaps re-prime so that you can't see the edge. It takes a while to get the hang of getting professional looking results with a can of spray paint, but it can be done.
The main reason I now prefer to use the SEM products, is because I always have a source for touch up, both from inevitable bumps in the parking lot, and from overfilling the damn gas tank tank ( I'll bet I re-paint that extension once every couple of years!). So, if you have this done professionally, make sure you have them make you up an aerosol can or two of touch up, or a get some in liquid form to use with an air brush.
