I was getting a pulse, but no action out of them. A buncha gunk it appears from a rubber piece in the fuel pump got sucked up into the fuel system and gummed up everything in it's path (I HATE ETHANOL!!!) Well, I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter (and found the gummy remains in the bottom of the pickup assembly.
I was getting pulses according to my meter, but I pulled the fuel rail and put a paper towel under the injectors...nothing. I pulled the injectors and touched them to a 12 volt battery. They were flowing current, but no click. I bought some mineral spirits at the hardware store and soaked them overnight. This evening, I pulled the hats off and cleaned them with an old toothbrush. With a few taps from the battery wire, they started clicking stronger and stronger :)
Re-assembled the fuel rail and threw it on the car... started really quick and ran better than it ever did before...very smooth idle! I think it needed this cleaning for a long time. I think however I'm going to eventually replace the injectors, as they have a lot of miles on them, but at least they are working now and I can drive the car!...that will be on next month's budget
