...Have searched here to no avail, I wonder how to replace the antenna (non electric, short one present but loose) with a long 'whip' type. I don't have (or want) an electric one (the 'erectile function' one a certain fred here always mentions!).
I don't know how to go about fitting one as all teh car websites now seem to demand year, model, etc. and only give the uro electric mast...
Is there some type of mount, or diameter, etc. I should get?
I had a cheap but decent one with a spring base I put on my 85 bmw (which in teh end, ironically, never ever had a radio in its life!) but couldn't get it uninstalled to use before I sold it recently...
Alternatively, are the wound 'shorty' antennas somehow better? I'd think a taller one would be better because of height alone.
I don't have any of the car wash or other big city concerns people have mentioned for their justification of the 'erectile action' (i.e., electric) antennas.... I had one of those once on a car and found it idiotic though!
