Outer CV boots are usually replaced by extracting the entire axle from the car and working down to the torn/rotten boot from the inside end of the axle.

Meaning, you'd jack up the car after putting spacers beneath the upper A-arms, remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way in the wheel well (without disconnecting the hydraulic line), loosen and slide the inner-CV boot-clamp off the boot, loosen and extract the tie-rod bolt from the axle knuckle, then loosen and extract the top- and bottom-universal joint bolts and in one clean and careful swoop move, pull the axle out of the wheel well and drop it brake-disc down onto a workbench. Clean and remove the inner-tripod bearing, loosen the small clamp for the inner-CV boot and slide the inner-CV boot off the axle. This gives you free reign to remove the old outer CV boot and replace it after packing with new CV grease.

I'm sure there's a lot of links in this newsgroup on how to do it besides these few sentences. And I don't recall the steps listed in the manual but...

You don't need to fuss with the axle nut for a CV-boot replacement.

Best of luck.
