So the seats changed along with the brakes, parking brake, lug bolt pattern, etc after 86.
The 'early' seat has a very different mount than the later version.
So, while any seat can fit in any car, it's going to be a lot harder to put a later
seat in an earlier car, since the earlier cars have the oddball tripod mount.
In an equally strange twist,
VW had a 3- point mounting system- but it had 2 legs towards the back, and one in
front, exactly reverse to the earlier Saab.
I'm still fussing with using a couple of later seatpads in the earlier seats-
as above, anything works, but they don't just slide in...
