Lower Control Arm Rear Mount Bolts/Bracket Question

So I recently discovered that my 900 has some rust starting in the control arm areas (inside the box tunnels) but at this point it's relatively minor and I'd like to apply a rust converter product to keep it from getting worse while I've caught it in early stages. The existing paint is loose on the "floor" part of the box tunnels. I want to remove all that old loose clinging paint that is trapping moisture and dirt and properly clean and prep the area for the rust convertor/encapsulator product. I will then liberally apply fluid film in these areas once the rust convertor is fully cured.
It would be nice to remove the bracket and three bolts for the lower control arm (rear bracket that's inside the steering rod tunnel). To remove just that bracket and three bolts, do I need to unload the suspension (blocks of wood between upper control arm and frame?) or can those three bolts and bracket just be removed as long as the front bracket stays fully attached? Any other considerations I might not be thinking of? Car will be jacked up on the side I'm working on with wheel removed (one side at a time).
