I went the opposite direction a few years ago, after replacing the transmission in my '93 CE, changing to Redline MT85. Admittedly a little stiff on start up in cold weather, it smooths out nicely once things warm up. The decision to change arose from a discussion with one of the original Eeuro guys (Adam?) Shifting is quite smooth and the tranny a little quieter. I don't speed shift, so that's not an issue. In fact, my driving style is largely a holdover from my first Saab, a'68 Sonett V4 with freewheeling. I never downshift to decelerate, instead staying in gear, letting the engine drop to 2K then shifting to neutral and braking to slow down. I believe this reduces stress on the transmission and increases longevity. Anecdotally, my first trans was replaced, still running in good condition, at 236K, not out of necessity, but rather opportunity and a desire not to push my luck.
